Lion 26 is designed for high efficiency welding. Because of its thin flux coating the welding can be done with good slag removability, shallow penetration, less spatters, and beautiful bead. Lion 26 is suitable for welding vehicles, steel sheets, and other light structures.

Exceptionally clean puddle and uniform slag follow, making it easy 1G 2F 2G for a welder to “carry” the puddle. Starting tip to facilitate. If his original PQR for the SFA 5.5 electrodes complied with the tensile and yield requirements of API 1104 and his mechanical properties for the SFA 5.1 are nearly identical (actually slightly higher) then there is no reason why his SFA 5.1 cannot be used. Just remember - the mechanical properties listed in SFA 5.1 / 5.5 are minimum only.

Specifications: ansi/aws a5.1 & asme sfa 5.1 e7018 Aws E7018 used for welding carbon steel and low-alloy steel strutures, such as 16Mn,etc. AWS E6011 suitable for butt welding, fillet welding and lap welding on thin plates, such as low-carbon steel structures like flues of power stations, air ducts, transformer oil tanks, hulls, exterior panels. AWS A5.1 ASME SFA 5.1; UNS W07018 DESCRIPTION: Pinnacle Alloys E7018/E7018-1 low-hydrogen electrodes can be used with either AC or DCEP. These electrodes have mineral coverings which are high in limestone and other ingredients that are low in moisture and hence produce weld deposits “low in hydrogen content.” As is common.
Application & Properties:
Lion 27 is suitable for butt or fillet welding of mild steel (20 mm less) in all positions. It is hard to cause slag inclusion and lustrous bead can be obtained. The weld metal has good crack resistance, good tensile strength and excellent toughness.

Made in USA, not Canada or China like rival brands.
You just discovered the highest performance wet welding electrode on the market.
Each electrode is lathe wrapped and wax dipped for maximum shelf life and burning reliability.
Our manufacturing method does not contaminate the flux. Stronger welds over time.
Our tests show incredible shelf life of over 10 years. Electrodes can also be used on land.
Be sure to watch our wet welding video on Youtube.

Very high quality. Welding research shows multiple passes with a smaller electrode is stronger than one large pass.
Our most popular size electrode is 1/8'.

Old timers dipped electrodes in laquer and get the job done. In today's world; things like certification and post weld cracking matter. We spin wrap electrodes in pvc and dip the tips and stems in wax for maximum shelf life. We do NOT dip our electrodes in paint or solvents which leads to post weld embrittlement and cracking. Since the flux under our wrap is pristine, our electrodes burn underwater like they burn on land. If you are confronted with a demanding job, select our wet welding electrodes and enjoy the peace of mind in knowing you used the very best the market can provide.

Because much of the repair work is now done in wet atmospheres without enclosures, the adoption of underwater wet welding standards was critical for consistent and reliable quality assurance. The adoption of the ANSI/AWS D3.6 standard provided several benefits not the least of which was the ability of engineers to match an electrode with the scope of the fabricated structure. Four separate classes were adopted. Type A welds were compared with surface welds pertinent to enclosed or hyperbaric settings. Type B welds encompass noncritical applications where ductility and porosity are not a critical factor. Type C welds indicate welds which are not load bearing. Finally, type O welds indicate the same requirements as surface dry welds. For more information, review the AWS D3.6M-99 specification for underwater welding published by the American Welding Society dated April, 1, 1999.
The approximate number of electrodes per ten pound, 4.5kg box can be found below:
1/8' 3.2mm = 120 electrodes.
5/32' 3.9mm = 90 electrodes.
3/16' 4.7mm = 70 electrodes.
